Competency matrix
Position profiles say which competencies each role needs and to what level. Assessments record the level reached, by whom and when. The matrix is the view auditors ask for: positions against competencies, per team and per site.
What it does
- Competencies with a code, a category and a maximum level, grouped the way your site is organised.
- Position profiles: the competencies and target levels each position requires.
- Assessments with assessor, date, period, score, status and notes.
- Team and site matrix views; each employee sees their own competencies in their language.
- Competencies tagged to the standards you are audited against: HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, BRCGS, IFS Food, FDA FSMA and others.
Who uses it
- HR admin: owns profiles and assessments
- Quality manager: standards mapping and audit evidence
- Team leaders: assess and plan their line
- Every employee: their own competency view
Questions about this
Can we start from the matrix spreadsheet we have today?
Yes. The usual path is to import your current positions, competencies and levels and map them with your QA lead before anyone assesses in RomLet.
How are levels defined?
Each competency has its own maximum level and each position profile states the level it requires. You choose the scale per competency; RomLet does not impose one.
Who can change an assessment?
Only roles with assessment rights can create or edit assessments, and each assessment carries the assessor and the date.
